Alvilde portrays a world populated by stoic characters in bright and primary colors. A world more cosmic rather than realistic.
She reinterprets the notions of beauty, of womanhood, of couple and of life through a refined style and technique, along with a daringly expressionist color palette.
From Munch to Picasso, her influences shine through and take us back to a simpler, more authentic time, yet with a touch of modernity added by the artist.
Radical simplification and deformed lines, a more modern, classical beauty is shown through her works. She plays on duality and sets both an ancient and phantasmagoric scene.
This paradox helps accentuate the poetry in her works.
Her paintings, choice of colors and technique take us back to the beginning of the 20th century, when research on shapes and colors was considered avant-garde and seen as the ultimate provocation.
A simple, authentic world that leaves room for spirit and aesthetics.
Alvilde rethinks the world that surrounds her and articulates it through her use of bright colors and her characters.
